Tryangles (Louisville, Kentucky)
A longtime staple of Louisville’s queer nightlife, Tryangles was a well-loved gay bar in downtown Louisville at 209 S Preston Street—a place many locals remember as part of the city’s vibrant LGBTQ+ scene before the landscape shifted and several historic bars closed. It was known for its laid-back atmosphere, mixing friendly bartenders, reasonable drink prices, and a vibe that blended billiards saloon, dance club, and neighborhood hangout into one lively room.
Tryangles attracted a diverse crowd from across the region, with lively weekend nights, a back deck for socializing, pool and darts, and a dance floor that kept the energy up well after dark. For years it sat alongside other Louisville LGBTQ+ landmarks like the Connection and Boots, helping define the city’s bar culture and giving community members a place to see familiar faces, make new ones, and just be themselves.
