The Caldron – San Francisco Open from 1976 to 1984, The Caldron was one of San Francisco’s most infamous sex clubs—an unapologetically hedonistic space that became a symbol of the city’s raw, leather-fueled nightlife. Located in the South of Market district, it was known for its dim red lights, industrial atmosphere, and “anything goes” energy that made it legendary in the gay underground.
