Sugar Shack in Milwaukee was a landmark lesbian bar founded by JoAnn Kilsdonk and Sharon Dixon in May 1975, proudly billing itself as a "bar by and for women." It became a vibrant social hub, drawing crowds from across Wisconsin and northern Illinois, and packed in up to 150 patrons on busy nights. When JoAnn sold the bar in 1984, it marked the end of an eraβthough its spirit lived on through its successor venues. Sugar Shack wasnβt just a nightlife spot; it was a powerful statement in a time when queer women needed spaces built by and for themselves .

I use Bella + Canvas 3001 Unisex tees for all of my designs. They are a soft and light cotton. If you love another brand, please let me know and I can see if I can source it. I can also do my designs on tanks, long sleeve tees, sweatshirts, hoodies and posters. Just reach out with any custom requests and I'll gladly help you out. I do like large prints, but if you want the design scaled down, please contact me before placing an order and I can send you some mock ups.
