Westwood and McLaren rejected conventional fashion in favor of clothing that challenged authority, blurred taboos, and treated the body as a political statement. Their designs mixed fetish wear, historical references, pornography, political imagery, and détournement into a visual language that would define punk style for generations.
The Snow White Coke shirt remains one of the most infamous pieces from the collection. It takes an innocent Disney image and transforms it into something decidedly less wholesome, replacing fairy-tale nostalgia with a sly reference to cocaine culture and the era's fascination with shock.
