Part fisherman, part philosopher, part maniac, Quint spends most of Jaws looking like he wandered out of a Cape Cod fantasy designed specifically for people with a weakness for beards, chest hair, and bad decisions.
It's no surprise that the character developed a devoted cult following well beyond horror and film circles. The swagger, the scars, the sunburned toughness—it all lands somewhere between old-school seafarer and unexpected gay icon.
