In 1981’s Halloween II, Michael Myers comes back for one more night at Haddonfield Memorial Hospital—and by the end of it, even The Shape is starting to show some damage.
Picking up immediately after the events of the original Halloween, the sequel follows Laurie Strode to the hospital while Michael continues his pursuit through dark corridors, empty treatment rooms, and one of the eeriest settings in the entire franchise.
This design is inspired by one of Michael’s most memorable images from the film: blood running from his eyes after he is shot in the face, turning the blank white mask into something suddenly grotesque and almost surreal.
The effect is especially striking because Michael’s face is normally so emotionless. The streaks of blood read almost like tears, giving the mask an accidental sadness while still remaining completely horrifying. It is one of those perfect horror images that becomes even stranger the longer you look at it.
