Leatherneck was a distinctive and daring gay leather bar located in downtown Chicago (the Loop). Featuring a mezzanine and a dungeon-style upstairs space where the Windy City Bondage Club hosted immersive events. Operated by the enigmatic John Birch—also associated with Metropolitan Slave magazine—it became known as more of a social hangout than a hypersexual venue, offering a unique mix of kink, camaraderie, and cultural subtext.
