Inspired by a vintage CBGB’s show poster, this design honors Wayne County — the trailblazing, gender-bending punk icon who tore through New York’s underground long before the world was ready. In the mid-1970s, Wayne (later Jayne) County brought shock, humor, glam, and raw political energy to the Bowery, turning every CBGB appearance into a piece of queer rock history.
With snarling vocals, high heels, and no apology for any of it, County helped shape the sound and attitude of early punk — influencing everyone from the Ramones to Bowie while pushing gender norms off the stage and into the street. The poster-style artwork captures that era’s Xerox grit: loud typography, DIY chaos, and the Bowery at its most feral.
A snapshot of the nights when New York punk was dangerous, queer, and alive — and when Wayne County was at the center of the blast radius.
