Harvey’s was a beloved LGBTQ+ bar and restaurant located at 500 Castro Street in San Francisco’s Castro District.It opened in 1996, taking over the space previously occupied by The Elephant Walk, and operated until its closure on January 22, 2023.Named in honor of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected official in California, Harvey’s served as a community hub for 27 years, hosting drag shows, trivia nights, and fundraisers, while its walls showcased memorabilia celebrating Milk and the neighborhood's rich queer history.
