Esta Noche wasn’t just a bar—it was a lifeline for San Francisco’s queer Latinx community. Opened in 1979 in the Mission District, it was the city’s first Latino gay bar and quickly became a sanctuary where Spanish-speaking LGBTQ+ folks could dance, connect, and celebrate without fear. Drag shows, salsa nights, and community events filled the space with life, love, and cultura.
After decades of serving as a cultural hub, Esta Noche closed its doors in 2014, a casualty of gentrification. But its legacy lives on as a symbol of resistance, joy, and the vital spaces created by and for queer people of color.
I use Bella + Canvas 3001 Unisex tees for all of my designs. They are a soft and light cotton. If you love another brand, please let me know and I can see if I can source it. I can also do my designs on tanks, long sleeve tees, sweatshirts, hoodies and posters. Just reach out with any custom requests and I'll gladly help you out. I do like large prints, but if you want the design scaled down, please contact me before placing an order and I can send you some mock ups.
