C’est La Vie, nestled at 231 S. 2nd Street in Milwaukee, burst onto the scene in 1974 and quickly became a cornerstone of the local gay community. Under the welcoming ownership of Clarence “John Clayton” Germershausen, it flourished through the 1980s as a lively haven with a dance floor, drag shows, pool tables, and one of the friendliest vibes in town. By the mid-1990s, the neighborhood shifted, the scene fragmented, and Clayton passed the torch. In May 2008, after 34 spirited years, C’est La Vie closed its doors, leaving behind memories of glitter, community, and nights that felt endless.
I use Bella + Canvas 3001 Unisex tees for all of my designs. They are a soft and light cotton. If you love another brand, please let me know and I can see if I can source it. I can also do my designs on tanks, long sleeve tees, sweatshirts, hoodies and posters. Just reach out with any custom requests and I'll gladly help you out. I do like large prints, but if you want the design scaled down, please contact me before placing an order and I can send you some mock ups.
