Broadway Arms Baths (60's to 90's) occupied a stretch of midtown Broadway that had already lived several lives before it became one of New York’s most talked-about gay bathhouses. Housed inside a much older bath complex near 32nd Street, it emerged during a brief, electric window when queer sexual freedom was public, urban, and unapologetically communal.
