Bob Hoskins — Who Framed Roger Rabbit Vintage Tee

Some men are heartthrobs. Some men are leading men. And then there's Bob Hoskins, who somehow managed to be both while looking like he could fix your plumbing.

In 1988, Hoskins starred as Eddie Valiant in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, playing a hard-drinking, perpetually irritated private detective investigating a murder in a Hollywood where cartoon characters and humans share the same streets.

The film was a technical marvel, but Hoskins was its secret weapon. Acting opposite characters who weren't actually there during filming, he gave the movie its heart, its humor, and a wonderfully grumpy leading man who looked nothing like the usual Hollywood hero.

And then there's the shirtless scene.

For a certain audience, the sight of Bob Hoskins without his shirt was considerably more interesting than whatever Roger Rabbit was getting himself into. Short, stocky, hairy, and wonderfully unpolished, Hoskins possessed exactly the kind of masculine appeal that would make him a natural favorite among gay bears and their admirers.

Long before Hollywood started talking about body positivity, Hoskins was proof that sex appeal didn't require six-pack abs, perfect teeth, or a personal trainer. Sometimes a hairy chest, a little belly, and a spectacularly grumpy face were more than enough.
