Berlin was the wild heart of Chicago nightlife for nearly four decades — neon lights, drag queens, punks, leather daddies, pop kids, and glitter everywhere under the same disco ball. Known for out-there theme nights and unapologetically inclusive dance floors, it was a space where queer people of all kinds came to be loud, be seen, and lose themselves in music (and sometimes in the early morning). Though the doors closed permanently in 2023, Berlin’s spirit still pulses in every club that follows — every glitter stain, every midnight laugh still whispered in the city’s queer memory.
