There were weekday happy hours, Saturday beer busts, live music, and something wonderfully named \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e“Midnight Madness”\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e every night. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt belonged to a New Orleans gay nightlife scene that stretched through Burgundy, St. Ann, Rampart, Royal and Bourbon Streets—a dense little world of neighborhood bars, discos, leather spots, bathhouses and late-night cruising. Tiger’s catered to the more masculine side of that world, with the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eleather-and-Levi’s crowd\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e becoming closely associated with this particular address.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAnd that history continued long after the Tiger’s name disappeared. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e740 Burgundy\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e later became \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eRawhide\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, carrying the location forward as one of the French Quarter’s best-known gay leather bars.
